White transparent crystals with two crystalline water molecules. Used for precipitating and separating rare-earth metals. Employed in the production of tetracycline, oxytetracycline, phenobarbital, borneol, and other substances. Acts as a reducing agent in the dyeing and printing industry. Functions as a bleaching agent in the textile industry, substituting for acetic acid, and as a coloring mordant for fast pigment dyestuffs. It is utilized as a raw material in the preparation of chemicals for porcelain capacitors and in the production of cleaning agents for electronic equipment.
