Introduction：
High-carbon silicon is a novel composite deoxidizer, serving as a substitute for conventional deoxidizers like ferrosilicon powder, calcium carbide, carbon powder, and alloy powder. Exhibiting stable physical and chemical properties, high-carbon silicon boasts excellent deoxidation capabilities. Upon contact with molten steel, it rapidly reacts with oxygen, generating steel slag that floats on the surface, effectively deoxidizing the steel.
It finds suitability in deoxidizing ordinary steel, alloy steel, and special steel during the smelting process. This innovation offers rapid deoxidation, shortened smelting times, quick formation of white slag, a dense reduction atmosphere, easy temperature adjustment, reduced power consumption, prolonged furnace lining and cover lifespan, heightened steelmaking efficiency, and improved molten steel quality. It not only reduces the consumption of raw and auxiliary materials but also effectively diminishes the need for fluorite, lowering the concentration of toxic gas fluorine, thereby reducing environmental pollution.
Moreover, high-carbon silicon, while serving in deoxidation, exhibits some desulfurization effects and acts as a carburizing agent, potentially substituting a portion of the carburizer, thereby significantly reducing steelmaking costs.
